VERDICT: Having posted a respectable third in a class 5 event at Chepstow last month, Recon Mission makes plenty of appeal on this ease in grade. The Tony Carroll-trained eight-year-old looks nicely treated off a 1lb lower mark and he edges the vote over Symbol of Hope, who races off the same rating as last month's runner-up effort at Salisbury and another prominent showing is forecast. Savannah Smiles is unlikely to be far away either.
