VERDICT: Fair Angellica did it well when scoring comfortably over 7f at Deauville and Richard Hughes' progressive filly warrants the utmost respect on the back of that performance. That said, she may have to play second fiddle to Jabaara. Roger Varian's charge lost nothing in defeat when beating all bar Porta Fortuna over a mile in the Falmouth Stakes at Newmarket and, with her sights lowered, she could be tough to stop. This step up in trip looks an interesting move for Raqiya and, along with French 1000 Guineas runner-up Kathmandu, she completes the shortlist.
