VERDICT: Burdett Road won the Golden Gates Handicap at the Royal meeting in 2023 before acquitting himself with credit in Group 3 company, most notably finishing third to Passenger in the Winter Hill at Windsor. After a fruitful spell in juvenile hurdles, he commands plenty of respect back on the level, but some unexposed three-year-olds may have the edge. The vote goes to Mutaawid, a full-brother to Mostahdaf, who impressed in a Kempton novice. Tabletalk was considered good enough for a crack at the Derby, while Hosaamm is another with the potential to do better.
