VERDICT: Clearance has won his last two starts over hurdles at Newton Abbot and is a fascinating contender returning to the level, especially with the booking of Oisin Murphy in the saddle. However, he faces rivals who are less exposed and the vote, therefore, goes to Godsend. A winner on his penultimate start at Ripon, the extra couple of furlongs and the application of cheekpieces for the first time appear likely to yield further improvement.
