VERDICT: Runner-up to Dark Note here 12 months ago, Expound may be able to turn the tables. Conceding 3lb to the winner on that occasion, the Denis Hogan-trained gelding can race off level weights now with Daniel King claiming an additional 5lb. Having opened his account in a Ballinrobe maiden last time, the five-year-old arrives here in winning form. The aforementioned Dark Note has to be a live contender given his proven ability to handle this track. Andrew Slattery's five-year-old was pulled up over fences last time but had been second over hurdles on his penultimate start. The Night Of Thunder gelding will almost certainly be prominent from the outset. Limerick winner Forlio has to have every chance with Colin Keane retaining the ride on the Paul Flynn-trained gelding.
