VERDICT: Paddy Hanlon's claim could tip the scales in favour of Pahlavi. In common with one of his chief dangers, Jeaniemacaroney, the selection will have his doubters, given that he's a pretty long standing maiden. However, this isn't an event dotted with 'win machines,' and those that have managed a victory have their own negatives attached. Pahlavi isn't without pace, as evidenced by some decent performances on the level at the start of his career. To that end the trip of just shy of 2m may be just right. Expect an always on the pace effort in a bid to maximise the Hanlon runner's experience advantage. Marcher Lord and Caman Eileen in particular, are interesting as they begin over jumps.
