VERDICT: A difficult contest to assess, with many of these racing over a distance further than they've gone before. One such is Goodbye Venice, who might appreciate the extra yardage. The Luke Comer-trained colt has some decent efforts to his name and was a close sixth at Limerick on his latest start, after meeting with some trouble in running early in the straight. Gangster Granny was just over a length-and-a-half in front of him there and she since gave the form a boost by winning on her next outing. Comer also saddles top-weight The Mighty One, who returns to action for the first time since January. Handicap debutants Whispering Hopes and Viyanni are of definite interest coming from top yards, while Gowran runner-up Lilac Lady and Fairyhouse third Thefullbackline are other leading contenders in this open affair.
