VERDICT: Great Bear has been a consistent sort since switching his attention to chasing and the eight-year-old ran his best race to date when going down by just a short head last time. Raised 3lb subsequently, the son of Dansili should have more to offer. Bythesametoken may have needed his reappearance at Aintree in April but shaped much better when third at Ballinrobe last time. The Ross O'Sullivan-trained Fame And Glory gelding is a former course winner who is suited to a flat track such as this. Time Marches On won over course and distance on his penultimate start. Pulled up last time, he needs to recapture that earlier form if he is to be a contender.
