VERDICT: Composite was a comfortable victor over 1m at Newmarket on Thursday and is interesting returned to further under a penalty, but it might pay to side with Crystal Mariner. It was no surprise that he weakened at Sandown recently, having raced wide with no cover for much of the contest. That shouldn't be an issue here, though, and given that he retains plenty of potential, a 2lb ease in the ratings might underestimate him. Aerospace is another to consider.
