VERDICT: Martin (1) looked a winner in waiting when an eye-catching 2nd on debut last year and he would have come on appreciably with the benefit of a pleasing comeback outing at Compiegne late last month, so it could pay to follow his progress. Hawk Power (3) finished ahead of the selection that day and wouldn't be winning out of turn either. They are likely to find themselves fighting for victory in this opening event.
