VERDICT: Phoenix Star has won five times over C&D now and deserves plenty of respect, but four were off lower marks and he may have to settle for a place in this field. Elegant Erin drops a grade after her second at Carlisle on the turf and if she improves for recent wind surgery, she might be able to make the most of her high draw to come home in front. Thornaby Pearl and recent Hamilton winner Newyorkstateofmind are others to consider in a competitive contest.
