VERDICT: The progressive Ararat capped off last year's campaign with a comfortable victory on the Rowley Mile and, racing off an 8lb higher mark, he isn't taken lightly on his return to action. However, Darkness' last career victory came on the July Course and a 1lb drop in the ratings for his recent placed effort at Goodwood will really help the six-year-old. Benacre is also worth a second look.
