VERDICT: Midnight Gun took a big step forward when upped to an extended mile for his turf debut at Nottingham, staying on strongly to break his duck. The runner-up has since gone one better, while the four-length third made the frame off a mark of 87 at the Derby meeting, so an initial figure of 88 may be a lenient one for Ed Walker's colt. Mythical Guest has won two out of three this campaign, although this distance is on the short side. Borgi is well treated compared to his all-weather rating so is worth a look.
