VERDICT: Makalu won on his return to turf at Ripon last month before going back to that same venue and receiving very little luck in running when hampered on a couple of occasions earlier this month. The most significant interference occurred when making his challenge and the five-year-old is worth another chance. Little Ted finished ahead of the selection last time when also not getting the rub of the green and he is entitled to be in the mix, while Star Of St James and Whatwouldyouknow appeal most of the remainder.
