VERDICT: War Lord had been on something of a downward spiral since making the frame in the Haldon Gold Cup, but last week's third over hurdles here will have helped get him back on track and he can build on that now reverting to fences. Issuing Authority is also better than he showed on his latest appearance, while Kauto The King returned with a pleasing Hereford performance. Matterhorn is an obvious contender if turning up after Thursday's Worcester engagement.
