VERDICT: Damascus Steel ran an excellent race when second at Doncaster last month, despite pulling hard throughout. The booking of William Buick catches the eye on this occasion and, if he can manage to settle the son Mastercraftsman, he should have too much for Southwell runner-up Lunar Shadow, as well as Hill Station, who only weakened late in the piece when fifth over C&D last time out.
