VERDICT: On The Cards made a pleasing handicap debut when hitting the frame over a mile at Bath last month and the handicapper may have been kind to drop him 1lb for that effort. With the step up in trip likely to unlock further improvement, this appears to be a suitable opportunity to shed the maiden tag. The main danger might be Twilight Guest, who wasn't disgraced in fourth at Yarmouth last time and it would be no surprise to see him get involved, while Semser is another to consider.
