VERDICT: A novice winner on soft going last year, Pilgrim finished a creditable third in a higher grade at York on his latest start with several of these behind. He looks up to scoring off his current handicap mark on that showing and gets the vote. Moonstone Boy went close at Thirsk earlier in the year and another good effort can be expected from him, while Batal Zabeel returns to action 4lb higher than when successful at Beverley last August.
