VERDICT: Gilded Water stepped forward from a promising start in the Wood Ditton to finish third at Windsor and rising in trip promises to bring about a fair amount of improvement from William Haggas' gelding. Old Saxony improved when third at Yarmouth earlier in the month and has to enter calculations, while James Webb and Domaine Des Combes, a 325,000gns purchase at Tattersalls Book 1 in October 2022, are others capable of making an impact.
