VERDICT: Judged by his fine second in a competitive 21-runner sprint at York recently, veteran Dakota Gold clearly still retains plenty of ability. A 2lb rise in the ratings looks more than fair for that performance and a return to winning ways likely beckons. C&D winner Secret Guest is feared most after a close-up third at Thirsk earlier this month, while Bay Breeze is entitled to build on his fourth-placed seasonal bow at Ripon.
