VERDICT: The combination of an 81-day break and quicker ground conditions saw Jaxonne romping home at Ludlow recently. Although a 7lb penalty is unlikely to prevent another bold bid from the five-year-old, last week's unpunished C&D winner Knacker Trapper may prove too strong. Andrew Crook's gelding came home in splendid isolation in a conditional jockeys' event and the quick turnaround looks a good move before his revised mark kicks in. The Dark Edge should have more to come in handicap company and completes the shortlist.
