VERDICT: Patronage saw out the trip fine when runner-up at Beverley on his first try at 1m2f and that form has since been franked by the winner following up under a 6lb penalty. The son of Masar makes plenty of appeal with the handicapper leaving him on the same mark and the addition of cheekpieces further enhances his credentials. Givitawhirl is bred to be a good deal better than a mark of 58, coming from the family of Poet's Word and Malabar, and stepping up in trip is likely to be a positive. Others to note include Emerald City and Eccentric.
