VERDICT: Niigata overcame inexperience to make a winning start to his career over this trip at Chelmsford earlier in the month and the manner of that victory suggested there might be a fair amount of improvement to come. Las Ramblas boasts a smart pedigree, being a half-brother to three-time Group 1 heroine Legatissimo, and lived up to it when getting up close home over 1m on debut at Newcastle in February. He commands plenty of respect, along with newcomer French Mistress and Anglepoise.
