VERDICT: A maiden after nine starts, this looks as good an opportunity as any for Lochaber to get off the mark, following a strong runner-up effort over 6f in a Doncaster handicap. Dropping back in trip should not inconvenience him and it may be Better who gives him the most to think about on his first run for the Paul Midgley stable. Vanity Pays has taken her time to settle on these shores, but her most recent effort at Pontefract gave hope that there could be improvement forthcoming.
