VERDICT: Lawn Ranger shaped as if in need of the outing at Kempton 12 days ago but Michael Attwater's charge, twice a winner over C&D under Robert Havlin last season, could find his sparkle now returned to this venue. Loughville was a narrow victor on soft ground at Bath last month but the form hasn't worked out particularly well, so a 4lb rise might seem harsh on that evidence. However, she remains open to further improvement and should not be underestimated, while Abu Royal is also noted.
