VERDICT: R Bernard impressed when making all over the extended 3m2f here 18 days ago and, even off a 10lb higher mark, will be tough to overhaul if this shorter trip doesn't catch him out. Threats include Star Of Affinity (third), who has yet to have his stamina tested over this far, while Groom De Cotte (fifth) wasn't far behind that rival when they clashed over the extended 2m2f at Exeter and can improve, given that was his first run back after wind surgery.
