VERDICT: Auric is a handicapper with a bright future and may well blow his introductory mark of 74 out of the water if he lives up to Oisin Murphy's glowing appraisal following his hard-fought victory at Kempton 16 days ago. Murphy suggested the son of Havana Gold will benefit from a stronger pace and looks sure to get that if the usually free-going Miami Heat helps to set a decent tempo. Acer is respected but can also be keen in his races, a scenario which can set things up nicely for the selection.
