VERDICT: Kaadam (1), who won a Group II over 3600m on this course last year, lost his unbeaten steeplechase record (four starts) when 3rd on his reappearance in a 3500m Group III event but would've tightened up with the benefit of that outing and is good value to reconnect with success in this Group II contest, with the step up to this distance likely to unlock further progress. Chanteur Du Bourg (2) was ahead of the selection in the aforementioned Group III and has the means to fight for victory, despite his recent failure (fall) in a subsequent course-and-distance Group III. Fragments Of Time (8) won for the first time in this sphere when a wide-margin winner over 3500m on this course and, on the evidence of that victory, could stake a claim too. Kentucky Wood (5) completes the shortlist.
