VERDICT: Surfers Paradise began his career in the 7f maiden won by Diego Velazquez here, showing plenty of ability in fourth, and then finished a couple of lengths clear of Marty The Party when they took minor honours at Tipperary. The drop from 1m1f should be in his favour and he can make it third-time lucky. The penny dropped for Hazbaiya a bit too late on her introduction but she caught the eye when the race was all over. Salah Al Deen, a stable companion of the selection, is arguably the pick of the newcomers.
