VERDICT: Grand Karat took a step forward when third at Haydock last time and the first two home from that contest have both earned black-type subsequently. With that in mind, the son of Gleneagles merits the utmost respect here. That said, Military Leader has to be of interest on his racecourse bow given that he is a half-brother to the Group 1-placed Sounds Of Heaven and connections parted with 1,500,000gns to purchase him as a yearling. Orne and Imperial Guard are other interesting newcomers, while Dark Viper completes the shortlist.
