VERDICT: A gripping renewal of the 2000 Guineas, with several eyecatching contenders lining up, including Little Big Bear, who bolted up in the Phoenix Stakes at the Curragh when last seen. His stablemate Auguste Rodin is narrowly preferred, though, with the son of Deep Impact looking a potential star when registering a striking success in the Vertem Futurity at Doncaster, and connections could harbour Triple Crown ambitions. Things didn't go to plan in the Greenham for Chaldean, who unseated Frankie Dettori coming out of the stalls, but he was impressive in the Dewhurst here.
