VERDICT: Spike Jones had Prince Des Fichaux (third) behind when scoring on his penultimate start over C&D and he is fancied to confirm that form even with the pull at the weights. However, they could both struggle up against Alkopop, who returns to this sphere after unseating over fences last time. The nine-year-old finished a close-up third at Hereford two starts ago off the same mark and is a big player on that form.
