VERDICT: Barrier Peaks has been a revelation since switching to handicaps, winning three of his four starts, and having landed a conditional jockeys' event under Fergus Gillard on Tuesday, the son of Blue Bresil escapes a penalty today and is fancied to continue his ascendency. It's possible that Maillot Blanc found a nine-day turnaround too quick when performing below market expectations at Sedgefield last month, but a return to form could be in the offing having had almost a month off the track since. Puddlesinthepark is one to note for market confidence ahead of his handicap debut.
