VERDICT: River Usk recorded an improved showing on his latest outing over 6f at Redcar, finishing a far from disgraced fifth when keeping on well inside the final furlong. He steps up in trip for his handicap debut and is entitled to improve, especially given he is a full-brother to US Grade 1 winner River Boyne. Menalippe is another to note if transferring recent all-weather form onto turf, while further progression should not be ruled out for Brasilian Princess either.
