VERDICT: Unicorn Alert caught the eye when running on from a long way back to finish a close-up 5th in a similar course-and-distance event recently with first-time blinkers fitted. He is drawn wide again but should remain competitive, even without the headgear. Noon Day Gun is closely matched and weighted to pose more of a threat on 0.5kg better weight terms. Empire State was backed that day when finishing sandwiched between those rivals but unlucky not to have done better. He would've benefitted from that seasonal pipe-opener and should have more to offer. Billy Cool, Son Of Zeus and Mont Loisir next.
