VERDICT: The traditional Cape Guineas trial and key pointer to that Grade 1 classic. Top-rated One Stripe lost little in defeat when finishing 2nd to a well-weighted older rival who subsequently franked that form with a wide-margin victory. He would have benefitted from that 1400m comeback and is open to further improvement over this extended trip. Eight On Eighteen won a 2yo Grade 3 over 1500m when last seen, beating recent Grade 3 Cape Classic 3rd All Out For Six, and is open to any amount of progress on his return. On My Honour, undefeated over 1600m (albeit on Poly), and unexposed Garrix come next.
